Upon hearing the door open, she dropped the newspaper she was holding. Having waited here for so long, her bad mood had gradually subsided, but it wouldn't change what she was about to do.

"Mr. Raymond."

She called out politely.

Ian Raymond moved behind the black marble table and sat in the leather chair.

"If there's something, let's talk two hours later; I have a meeting now."

Maja Pennyfeather lowered her eyelashes. She had already waited for two hours, so she didn't mind waiting for another two. She was determined to get it done tonight.

"Sure, you go ahead."

Ian looked up, his deep gaze landing on her.

Jeff entered the room at this point, bringing Ian a cup of coffee.

As Jeff was about to leave, Ian asked softly, "Penny, have you had dinner yet?"

Maja had just been upset by Dana Shepard and hadn’t had the chance to eat dinner.

"No."

"Jeff, prepare a dinner for her."

Jeff's step paused slightly, thinking that Mr. Raymond, despite not wanting to admit it, was quite considerate of Penny.

"Mr. Raymond, I'm not hungry."

Maja dismissed his offer.

Ian squinted his eyes and slowly opened the computer next to him.

"The meeting might take at least two hours; you should eat something."

Maja didn’t refuse this time.

Jeff didn't dare to bring her a regular staff meal, so he quickly contacted a star hotel. In less than half an hour, a small dining cart was pushed to the top floor and in front of Maja.

Maja was a bit surprised, remembering the dining cart that had appeared at Carlene Shepard's door.

A small table was placed before her, with everything from appetizers to desserts.

Maja wasn't hungry, but the food was indeed tempting.

So she couldn't resist, picked up the fork, and started eating slowly.

Ian sat in the leather chair, holding a meeting, but his eyes kept glancing at her.

He saw her shove a piece of dessert into her mouth with the fork, and probably because she was distracted, a bit of cream accidentally smeared on the corner of her mouth.
