Find Me In Your Labyrinth novel Chapter 1293

Emily flashed a grateful smile, "Thank you, Mr. Lamont."

"Just call me Jonah," Jonathan grinned back warmly.

"Alright then!" Emily cheerfully agreed, before heading back to the kitchen.

As soon as she turned around, her smile faded. Her previous encounter with Charlie had been far from pleasant and utterly awkward. Plus, Charlie was pissed at her. So, she decided it was best to avoid him for a while.

Jonathan plonked himself on the living room couch and shot a text to Charlie, "What did you do to piss off Emily again?"

Charlie texted back promptly, "Did she say something to you?"

"Don't sweat it, she didn't spill anything."

After a while, Charlie pinged again, "Where are you?"

"I'm hanging out with Estelle," Jonathan replied.

He didn't specify where, but Charlie knew from the fact that he was with Estelle that they were probably at Emily's place.

From Jonathan's earlier remarks, Charlie deduced that Jonathan had intended to invite him, but Emily had vetoed it.

At the bar, Charlie sat with his phone, his face betraying no emotion, but internally, he was seething.

Was Emily upset because he'd lost his temper? Did she even pause to think why he was so frustrated?

Likely not. She seemed oblivious, unaware of those who truly cared for her. If she wanted distance, so be it. He was worried he might snap at her again, anyway.

However, he was still suffocating under a cloud of frustration and misery.
