The commotion was impossible to ignore.
The doors of the Apex Research Hub opened.
Lydia poked her head out to see what was going on.
Only to find a massive crowd gathered right outside their lab.
Lydia's eyes first landed on the premium equipment being hauled by The Board of Arbiters' staff.
Then, she noticed Bianca standing by the door, craning her neck to look inside.
Seeing the door open.
Bianca immediately spoke up, "Wow, some people really just don't know what's good for them."
"All of Mr. Cole's premium resources belong to The Dreamscape Initiative now."
"I guess that's just fate. Some low-class people are born to treat scrap metal like treasure!"
Adrian stood behind the two women, his hands in his pockets, his dark eyes fixed intently on the open lab doors.
A striking figure appeared behind Lydia.
The girl's beautiful, aloof face showed no emotion as she lazily lifted her gaze toward them.
Adrian raised his chin slightly.
Hoping to see regret and despair written all over Serena's face.
But Serena merely swept a casual glance over the crowd outside, her voice completely detached. "Agreed. Some people really are born to treat scrap metal like treasure."
The statement was flawless.
Bianca's face twitched.
She had meant to use that line to mock Serena's team for not knowing real value.
Now, Serena had thrown it right back at her.
Why did it sound so unsettling?
