My ex husband wants me back (Daven and Althea) novel Chapter 812

It was so powerful that it nearly made her knees go weak. Once again, she had to make sure of what she was seeing. Just in case her eyes were deceiving her or she had misread the situation. But... that was exactly what had happened. No one was hurt, there had been no attack from anywhere, and everyone was fine.

But that relief didn't last long because irritation quickly took over.

Naomi immediately quickened her pace toward the campsite.

"Naomi?" Eli called out in confusion as Naomi appeared to be half-running toward the campsite without saying a word.

At the same time, Grace and Josh finally realized that their entire family was safe. The panic they had been holding back all this time immediately vanished.

"Mom!" Grace ran as fast as she could. Josh followed right behind her.

Althea, who had been helping prepare some of the equipment, immediately turned when she heard their voices. Before she could react, Grace had already wrapped her arms tightly around her waist.

"Mom!"

Althea was slightly startled and winced softly because Grace had suddenly rushed over, hugged her tightly, and was visibly trembling. "Sweetheart?"

Grace lifted her face. Her eyes looked slightly red. "We thought something happened." The little girl's voice sounded almost like a whine.

Althea immediately understood what had happened. She crouched down and gently hugged Grace. Giving her an affectionate rub on the back. "It's okay."

Grace quickly shook her head. "We heard gunshots earlier."

"Three times," Josh added, still trying to appear calm even though his face was much paler than usual.

Althea gently stroked her daughter's hair. "We're all fine."

Only after hearing that did Grace's shoulders slowly relax. "What actually happened, Mom?"

Meanwhile, Naomi finally stopped right in front of Cale.

The man had just handed over his catch to one of the staff members when Naomi looked at him with an expression that immediately made Lydia suppress a smile.

"What's wrong?" Cale asked casually.

Naomi closed her eyes briefly, then let out a sharp breath. The irritation in her head was ready to explode at any moment. "You were hunting?"

"Yes."

"Why didn't you tell us beforehand?"

Cale raised an eyebrow, puzzled by Naomi's question.
