My ex husband wants me back (Daven and Althea) novel Chapter 815

Naomi stood quietly, taking in the view. And for a while, neither of them spoke. Because sometimes, silence is the best way to begin an important conversation.

"Sunrises always remind me of Mr. Gavin." Cale's voice was quiet.

Naomi turned to look at him.

The man, just like her, was enjoying the beauty God had created in the form of a sunrise that could be appreciated from such a height.

"He used to bring us to places like this in Carrington Bay. Maybe you don't remember it very well."

"Really?" Naomi blinked in disbelief. "Why don't I remember?"

"That's why I'm trying to tell you some things about your past that you might want to hear."

"Actually... not really." Naomi let out a long sigh, and this time she turned her gaze back to the view before her. "As far as I'm concerned, the past doesn't need to be remembered anymore.

The morning breeze blew gently, stirring a few strands of hair that had slipped free from their tie. Below them, mist still lingered among the pine trees while sunlight slowly swept across the valley that had previously been shrouded in darkness.

Cale didn't answer right away. He simply stood beside Naomi with both hands tucked into his jacket pockets. His gaze was fixed on the horizon as it gradually changed color.

"I understand."

And Naomi knew Cale truly understood what she meant. Not every memory deserved to be kept. Not every past was worth missing. Because some things were sometimes better left where they belonged.

"I won't force you to remember anything," Cale continued quietly. "But there's one thing you can't ignore."

Naomi turned to him. The man's gaze remained as calm as ever.

"What flows through your veins."

Silence settled between them once again. Naomi understood what he meant without needing any further explanation. The Devereux name and blood running through her veins, and the inheritance she had never asked for from the very beginning.

"Even if you want to forget everything, that reality won't change." Cale let out a long breath.
