With the attackers neutralized, Loyce rushed to the operating table to check on the girl. She was hemorrhaging heavily, her face completely drained of color. Her life was slipping away.
Loyce immediately tried to comfort her while aggressively applying pressure to stop the bleeding.
The Motorcycle Gang members upstairs had finally realized something was wrong, but before they could even swarm the basement, the main doors were blown wide open by a grenade.
A massive squad of heavily armed Costa family enforcers stormed the building, tearing through the remaining gangsters in a chaotic bloodbath.
Hank was leading the charge, showing absolutely no mercy. When he found Loyce covered in blood, his heart nearly stopped.
"I'm not hurt," she said quickly. "It's not my blood."
Only then did Hank exhale in relief, his gaze shifting to the group of pregnant women huddled behind her. "The ambulances are pulling up now."
Supporting each other, the women slowly emerged from the basement, breathing fresh air for the first time in years. Tears of pure joy streamed down their faces. They thanked Loyce over and over, calling her their hero, with some even vowing to dedicate their lives to her if she ever needed anything.
Loyce graciously accepted their thanks, waiting until the police and paramedics arrived before finally leaving with Hank and his crew.
Overnight, the last remnants of the Motorcycle Gang were completely eradicated. Before leaving, Hank had one of his men retrieve a bloodstained suitcase from David’s room. In the car, he handed the case to Loyce.
"Go to the lab as usual tomorrow," Hank said. "And while you're at it, give Professor Philips a little gift from me."
Knowing exactly what was inside, Loyce took the case. "I want the lab, Hank. And I want to replace the entire staff. You don't mind, do you?"
Hank ruffled her hair with a fond smile. "Whatever you want. It's yours."
Loyce then casually brought up another subject. "Giselle told me you have another woman here in Mexistar?"
Hank frowned. "I already explained to her that it's just a cover. Karina is the mistress of Salvar, the second-in-command of the Colombo family. She used to handle crucial finances for him. During a crisis, Salvar threw her own brother under the bus to take the fall, leaving him to rot and die in prison. All Salvar gave her afterward was some cold 'hush money.'"
Loyce nodded. "So she betrayed the Colombo family, which is why she has free access to your bedroom? Salvar isn't an idiot. If she's practically living with you, he'd know her exact movements."
Hank sneered. "Exactly. She's a double agent. She purposely leaked her movements to the Colombos so they'd think she flipped to my side. Now, they're trying to use her to get intel on me."
