"It is mostly resolved now," Luke explained lightly. "There were some issues with a previous project, and I just haven't fully bounced back yet. I really need to get some good rest once we return."

He made it sound like a breeze. Felicia eyed him suspiciously, but Ava interjected.

"Luke knows what he is doing, Felicia."

Felicia nodded and looked back at Luke. "If it is resolved, then make sure you properly relax."

"I will."

They arrived back in the Capital at one in the afternoon. Felicia went straight home and took a nap. When she woke up, she saw a missed call from Max. She dialed him back, and the call connected almost instantly.

"I just woke up and missed your call," she said, her voice still thick with sleep.

"It is nothing urgent. Come to my office for a bit. I will have a driver pick you up," Max replied smoothly.

Felicia blinked in surprise but did not question it. She also wanted to see Anne.

"Alright," she agreed.

"Mm."

Lowering her phone, she checked the time. It was four o'clock. She threw off the covers, washed up, and headed to her walk in closet. She chose a lake blue dress with flared sleeves. It used to fit her perfectly, but now, the waist was noticeably loose. She really needed to start eating more; she did not want to look this frail. Tying her hair back into a simple bun, she headed downstairs. Ava was just coming out of the kitchen with a plate of pastries.

"You are awake, Felicia. Come have a bite," Ava offered.

Felicia walked over and popped a piece of pastry into her mouth. It was delicious. She mentioned she was heading to see Max and hoping to spend some time with Anne. Ava had no reason to stop her, but she made sure to pack Felicia's medicine for the next two days.

"Remember to drink this on time. Do not pour it out just because nobody is watching," Ava teased strictly.
