Eugene IV shot Wolfric a glare and said, “What you're saying is that you wouldn't even be here if it wasn't because of the threat the vampires might pose to the local Ariaricans, correct?”
“Think whatever you want.” Wolfric shrugged.
The two had a heated argument, both standing by their own opinion.
Each nation's God of War, too, wanted to have their voices heard.
Some of them supported Wolfric's view, all ready to go along with the idea of homing in missiles on the vampire-occupied territory to end the vampire bloodline once and for all.
The vast majority of them, however, concurred with Eugene IV. Never would they consent to such an inhumane act. They would rather deal with the vampires the conventional way. In a sense, they hoped to exterminate the vampires and rescue the humans being held captive in the vampire-occupied territory at the same time.
Eventually, a couple of crisp knocks rang out when Nathan knocked lightly on the table, successfully garnering all attention to him.
The crowd turned to Nathan before coming back to their senses—it was Nathan's call to make as the commander-in-chief of the alliance.
As it was impossible for them to see eye to eye on the matter, the best way to resolve the conflict was to let Nathan draw the conclusion.
Then came Nathan's calm statement. “Pope Eugene is right. We're human, so we shouldn't be inhumane. The objective of our alliance has always been to annihilate dark clans in our endeavors to protect human rights and maintain peace and harmony in this world. The last thing we do is slaughter one of our own. In line with that, it's only fair to say that Admiral Welz's plan is inappropriate. No one should ever bring this up again.”
Considering that the commander-in-chief had spoken, the rest of the members naturally obliged him.
As Wolfric saw that almost everyone had taken Nathan's side and only a few of them were sticking up for him, he did not have the gall to contradict Nathan, not with the measly followers he had.
All he could do was yield in displeasure. “Since you put it that way, Mr. Cross, we shall act in accordance with your decision.”
Nathan parted his lips and voiced, “There has been a large-scale of apparent sudden movements in the vampire-occupied territory. Most probably, the vampires are trying to assemble themselves and come at us in one fell swoop. We must make all necessary preparations, especially our forces who've gotten the vampire-occupied territory surrounded. Be on your guard at all times.”
The crowd could not agree more with that.
“Also, Angel Serum of Eurasia is in mass production as we speak. We'll be prioritizing the supply to Adrune ahead of another blood virus outbreak. Other things aside, we need to find out what exactly they're up to with their large-scale movements and the blood virus in the vampire-occupied territory,” added Nathan.
It was then that Leopold piped up, “We've been monitoring the vampire-occupied territory round the clock with the satellites and drones from every nation. Unfortunately, the vampires are getting more and more clever. We couldn't secure much information as of late. To learn their true intention, we may have to send an elite team to infiltrate the vampire-occupied territory. I'm afraid only that can shed light on their master plan.”
