When Chaim heard Zach's warning, he gave a cold shudder and replied seriously, "I'm sorry. Please tell Mr. Flint that such a thing will definitely not happen again."
Chaim was not a fool. He knew that he could only do something once.
If he did it again, he would be asking for trouble.
"Okay. It’s good that you know it. I’ll hang up," Zach answered coldly and then hung up.
Afterward, Zach sent Julien a message that Chaim had thanked him.
In Shallow Bay, Julien dried his hair and was about to go to sleep in the room.
Hardly had he taken a step when his phone in the bathrobe pocket rang. He took it out to have a look. After making a reply, he put the phone aside and went on walking into the room.
Julien entered the room and stood by the bed. He stared at Sydney, who was sleeping with pink cheeks. After giving a resigned smile, he bent down, gently squeezed her nose and then whispered, "Honey, you're sleeping so soundly. You think that Chaim helped you, but you don't know that he used you."
"Mhm..." With her nose squeezed, Sydney couldn't breathe. She frowned uncomfortably and moved.
As she was about to wake up, Julien quickly loosened his hold on her nose, patted her on the shoulder lightly, and sent her back to sleep.
Soon, she stopped moving and fell back asleep.
Letting out a low chuckle, he lifted the quilt and lay down. The next second, he pulled Sydney into his arms, turned off the light and shut his eyes.
…
The next day, Sydney was reading documents in the office when she answered a call from Luke.
He asked immediately, "Syd, what's going on?"
"What are you talking about?" She clamped the phone between her ear and shoulder. Hearing Luke’s sudden question, she got confused.
Luke rubbed his cheeks. "The commercial port. When I came to the company this morning, my dad asked me to go to his office. He told me that Julien asked to cooperate with our company on a commercial port. And we will take the lion's share in terms of the profits."
"What?" Sydney’s hand froze with a pen, and she straightened up.
Luke answered, "Yes. It happened this morning. The representatives of Flint Corporation came to our company to inform us about it. When I knew it, I was shocked. Julien even demeans himself by working with us and giving us the majority of the profits. Is he crazy? He is sending money to us."
Listening to Luke’s words, Sydney suddenly recalled that Julien had planned to thank Luke and Chaim last night.
And today, Flint Corporation took the initiative to collaborate with Chase Corporation on the commercial port. What a coincidence!
The commercial port seemed like Julien’s thanks to Luke.
Julien really did what he said, and he was very efficient.
Sydney shook her head and smiled. "Well, Luke, I probably know what's going on."
"You know what’s going on?" Luke was lying lazily in the office chair, with his feet on the desk.
Hearing Sydney’s answer, he immediately put his feet down and sat up straight. "Tell me quickly what's going on. Is Julien out of his mind? He even sends money to my family. Doesn't he always dislike me? Is he crazy to work with me?"
Sydney laughed. "He isn't crazy. The reason why he did it is because of you."
"Because of me?" Luke got startled and frowned in confusion. "Does it have anything to do with me?"
"I've already told him about the intercepted parts." Sydney didn't answer his question, but said this first.
