Her pitiful look made Julien's desire even stronger.
But he knew that she was very tired now, so he could only take a deep breath and suppress his desire. He touched her hot face and said in a low voice, "Mine? Say the name. Otherwise, how can I know who you mean?"
Sydney understood that Julien was deliberately making things difficult for her. If she still had any strength at that moment, she would kick Julien out of bed.
"Hmm?" Seeing Sydney's eyes roll, Julien lowered his head slightly and kissed her on the lips. "What are you thinking about?"
"Nothing." Sydney looked away, not wanting him to see what was on her mind.
What if he saw through her and wasn't going to let her go?
Seeing that Sydney didn't tell the truth, Julien didn't force her. He just asked her to answer the previous question. "Come on. Whose man am I? I'll let you rest if you answer."
"Who knows if you're lying to me again? Will you move on to the next question after I answer this one?" Sydney said in a very aggrieved voice, biting her lip.
Julien chuckled, "No. Not this time. Trust me, okay?"
Sydney turned her gaze to him, staring at him as if to make sure whether he was worthy of trust.
Finally, Sydney compromised and decided to trust Julien because she was exhausted.
Sydney's red and swollen lips moved as she murmured, "Sydney's."
Julien felt that her voice was too low, but when he saw how tired she was, he gave up making her say it again louder. He lowered his head to rub his forehead against hers, saying in a gentle voice, "Good. I'll do as I promised. Go to sleep. Thank you for giving me a perfect night."
With those words, he kissed Sydney's lips again and then reached out to cover Sydney's eyes.
Julien finally let her go. Sydney felt relieved and no longer managed to keep awake, so she closed her eyes under Julien's hand and fell asleep within two minutes.
She was so weary that her breathing was louder than usual.
Julien took his hand away from Sydney's eyes and looked at her red sleeping face and her sweaty hair. His heart overflowed with tenderness.
After that, he threw back the quilt, got out of bed, picked up the pants on the floor, and put them on. With his upper body naked, he picked Sydney up from the bed and headed for the bathroom.
After he bathed himself and Sydney and changed the sheets, it was almost dawn.
Julien covered Sydney with the quilt, took his cell phone, and sent a text message to Zach to take a day off before he got into bed and closed his eyes with Sydney in his arms. It was not until 2:00 p.m. when a phone call awakened Julien.
Julien opened his eyes. The first thing he did was to look for the phone that was ringing. He hung up the phone before looking at Sydney next to him to see if she had been woken up.
Only after seeing that Sydney was still asleep did he rub his brow, sigh in relief, and sit up from the bed.
"It's two o'clock?" Looking at the time on his phone, Julien raised his eyebrows, not expecting that they would sleep so late.
If not for Zach's call, he would have continued to sleep.
Sure enough, with a soft, fragrant woman in his arms, he slept better than before.
Julien put down the phone and looked at Sydney, who was still sleeping, his face full of affection.
He knew that she was exhausted last night, so even though the phone rang so loudly just now, it didn't wake her up.
It seemed that she would sleep a little longer.
Julien decided not to disturb her.
Julien leaned over, kissed Sydney on the forehead, got up, and left the room to call Zach back.
"What's up?" Julien asked in a soft voice as he walked over to the couch, sat down, and poured himself a glass of water.
On the other end of the phone, Zach was stunned to hear Julien's hoarse and sleepy voice. "Mr. Flint, you're not just waking up now, are you?"
