Zach knew that although Sydney had gotten back with Julien, Julien was always worried that Sydney would back out because it seemed like Sydney was still holding back a part of herself.
Last night, the two finally had sex. Guess Julien wouldn't have to worry about Sydney going back on it in the future. And he should be more confident about their relationship after the intimacy.
Indeed, hearing Zach's congratulations, Julien curled the corners of his mouth. "It's no big deal."
Although Julien said this, there was a touch of excitement in his voice.
Zach knew Julien was deliberately downplaying his emotions, but he could only respond with a smile, "Yes, Mr. Flint."
"What did you call me for?" Julien asked, "I told you I'm not going to the office today. Don't call me unless there’s an emergency. I'll go to the office tomorrow."
"I know, but it's not about business, it's about Madeline." Zach got serious.
Hearing it was about Madeline, Julien immediately straightened his back and asked, "Madeline?"
"Yes." Zach reported, "I got a call from the police this morning. They said Madeline asked to see you."
"What?" Julien furrowed his brows, "She asked to see me?"
"Yes."
"Are you sure she didn't ask to see Leaf?"
Julien didn't know Madeline well, so he couldn't think of any reason why Madeline would want to see him.
If Madeline was going to jail, she should have asked to see Sydney. Why did she ask to see Julien?
"Yes, I'm pretty sure. I was also surprised when I got the call from the police. I double-checked with the officer that Madeline wanted to see you, not Ms. Raines," Zach replied.
Julien was confused. "OK. Did the officer say why Madeline asked to see me?"
"Yes." Zach replied, "The officer said Madeline wanted to see you because of Ms. Raines, so I called to tell you about it."
Zach knew that Julien cared about everything about Sydney, or he would have refused Madeline's request outright.
Madeline had nothing to do with Julien. If it weren't for Sydney, Zach wouldn't even have reported it to Julien.
But since Sydney was involved, things were different.
"About Leaf?" Julien narrowed his eyes, "Did he mention anything specific?"
"No, and the police don't know about it. Although Madeline is at the police station now, and she has the right not to disclose it to the police." Zach then asked, "Mr. Flint, are you going to see Madeline?"
Julien was silent for a few seconds. He then lifted his chin and told Zach, "Tell the officer I'm going to the police station tomorrow. I need to find out what Madeline wants to talk to me about."
"Yes." Zach responded. He then said, "I'm going back to work. Have a nice day with Ms. Raines! See you tomorrow!”
Then Zach hung up the phone quickly. Normally, he always waited for Julien to hang up first, but today was different.
Zach knew that Julien didn't want to be bothered by anyone today. And he also knew that for anything involving Sydney, Julien would abandon his principles, so Zach wasn't worried that Julien would be annoyed when he hung up first.
It turned out Zach was right.
After Zach said 'Have a nice day with Ms. Raines', Julien immediately forgave the assistant.
If Zach hadn't been so clever, he would have lost his bonus for the month.
Julien let out a grunt, tossed his phone aside, and got up to go to the kitchen. He was going to cook some porridge for Sydney and wake her up later, even though he knew she was too tired last night and that she might not want to get up.
However, Julien worried that Sydney would be hungry. She had slept too long. It was not good for her stomach to be empty for so long.
Julien went to the kitchen and started cooking.
