Julien froze. After a few seconds, he came back to his senses. He looked at Sydney with incredulous eyes, "What did you just say? You're going to the office with me?"
"Yes." Sydney nodded her head.
After Sydney reassured him of her answer, Julien got excited. "Why do you want to go to the office with me?"
Sydney answered as she packed their things. "Because you're a patient."
Julien touched the bandage on his forehead, "It’s no big deal."
He just hit the back of his head and bruised it a bit. He didn't need someone to take care of him.
"Who told you that?" Sydney removed his hand from his forehead, "You hit your head. What if you suddenly faint?"
Sydney wasn't sure about that. She didn't feel comfortable letting Julien go to the office by himself.
She knew Julien was always immersed in his work, which was not good for his health.
Therefore, Sydney decided to go to his office with him.
"I won't." Julien squeezed Sydney's hand, "I don't have a concussion. Why would I suddenly faint? You don't need to come to the office with me."
"Are you sure?" Sydney narrowed her eyes at him.
A hint of hesitation flashed across Julien's eyes. Two seconds later, he nods, "Yes."
Sydney rolled her eyes at him, "Don't lie to me. Actually, you want me there, don't you? Your eyes lit up when I said I was going to the office with you. And why did you hesitate just then?"
Being seen through by Sydney, Julien gave an embarrassed look.
He was indeed excited when Sydney said she wanted to go to the office with him. But he didn't want her to know about it, so he acted cool.
However, Sydney saw right through him. Julien was actually looking forward to Sydney going to the office with him.
He was relieved when she nailed his lies.
Julien was just worried that Sydney would believe his lies and not go to the office with him. Then he would regret it.
Sydney didn't know what Julien was thinking. Seeing him remaining silent, she furrowed her delicate brows and urged, "Come on. Do you want me to go to the office with you or not? If you really don't want me there, I won't go."
Julien took her hand. He didn't say anything, but his meaning was obvious.
Sydney looked down at their interlocked hands and laughed, "You're funny. Why are you sometimes so rude but sometimes so shy?"
Julien let out a cough, "Things are different."
Sydney curled her lips, "Fine! I won't argue with you. Let's go!"
"OK." Julien nodded.
The two headed out of the hospital, holding hands.
Zach was waiting for them in the parking lot.
When Zach saw Julien and Sydney approaching, he put away his cell phone, walked up to them, and took Julien's bag.
Julien had only been in the hospital one night, so he didn't have a lot of stuff. Sydney brought some necessities to Julien last night. That was what was in the bag.
Last night when Sydney heard that Julien had been in an accident, she thought he was seriously injured and that he might be hospitalized for a few days, so she prepared some clothes and toiletries for him.
However, Julien left the hospital the next day, and Sydney was relieved about this.
"Get in the car." Coming to the car, Julien opened the door for Sydney. She then got into the car.
Just then, someone approached them from behind, and a woman's gentle voice rang out, "Mr. Flint, there you are!"
