Julien watched Sydney sleeping in his arms, he realized that he had exhausted her last night, and he felt regret.
He had been too passionate last night, but he was not to blame for that.
How could he control himself when he was doing the most intimate thing with the woman he loved?
Julien rubbed his brows. He intended to apologize to Sydney and buy her a gift when she woke up.
With his decision made, Julien carried Sydney up in his arms and headed for the bathroom. After giving himself and Sydney a brief shower, he took Sydney to bed and fell asleep right away. He held her in his arms the rest of the night.
But Julien didn't sleep for long. He woke up at about seven o'clock. He put on his clothes and took a shower. He dropped a kiss on Sydney's cheek and then quietly got out of the room. Then he left Shallow Bay.
At yesterday's meeting, Julien's proposal was passed unanimously. Certainly, he was going to be busy today.
He had to visit factories today, so he had to leave early in the morning. Otherwise, he would wait until Sydney woke up.
"Mr. Flint," Zach greeted Julien as he saw him, immediately crushing out his cigarette. He'd been waiting for Julien in the parking lot for a while.
Julien nodded to him and then instructed, "Tell Sean that Leaf will go to the office later."
Immediately, Zach understood what had happened. He grinned as he nodded, "Yes, Mr. Flint."
'Mr. Flint is incredible! He exhausted Ms. Raines last night. It must have been fervent last night.'
Hearing Zach's grin, Julien cast a cold glance at him.
Sensing that Julien saw through what he was thinking, Zach immediately regained his composure and got serious. He let out a cough, "Sorry, Mr. Flint, my throat isn't feeling well."
Julien ignored him and got in the car.
Zach hurriedly got into the car, too. As he was buckling his seat belt, Julien ordered from the back seat, "Tell the hotel to prepare breakfast for delivery to Shallow Bay at almost 9:00 a.m. Tell them not to knock. Have someone wait at the front door. Don't wake Leaf up. When she wakes up, give her the breakfast."
"Yes, Mr. Flint," Zach nodded.
Julien then took out his phone and focused on his phone.
Just as he put his phone away, Sydney's phone buzzed.
Sydney was still asleep in bed. When her phone buzzed, her brows furrowed and her eyes rolled, though they were still closed. She seemed to be waking up.
However, she couldn't open her eyes. She was too tired, so she fell back asleep.
About three hours later, a phone call woke her up.
"Hello?" Sydney reached out her hand from the blanket and fumbled for her phone. She didn't open her eyes.
She used to put her phone on the nightstand every night before she went to bed, so she easily grabbed her phone. She unlocked the phone with her finger and put it to her ear.
On the other end of the line, hearing Sydney's husky and sleepy voice, Sean took a moment before saying, "Ms. Raines, it's me."
"Yes?" Sydney rubbed her eyes and finally opened them. Then she lay back on the bed and stared at the ceiling light.
