The more she thought about it, the more worried she was about Julien's health. Sydney finally decided to make some tonic soup for Julien. Anyway, he was her boyfriend.
Thinking about this, Sydney quickly finished her breakfast. After that, she went out to throw her trash and went to the supermarket near the community to buy ingredients for the soup.
It was still early, and she would have plenty of time to make soup since she would not go to Skylight until the afternoon.
Sydney picked ingredients in the supermarket. She chose beef bones to make soup for Julien.
The beef bone soup was effective in strengthening the body and driving away the cold. On such a cold day, a bowl of beef bone soup could warm the body.
She believed that Julien would like it.
Sydney looked at the beef bones in her hand and laughed slightly. She then put them in the basket and went to the cashier to pay the bill.
It was already 11:30 when she returned to the community.
Sydney walked into the apartment building and came to the elevator. She was about to press the button when she saw a familiar figure standing in front of the elevator.
The person slightly lowered her head with her hands in front of her body, tightly carrying her bag. She seemed to be in a trance, not noticing the people around her.
Sydney looked at this person with a frown and pursed her red lips, her voice cold. "Ms. Madden, why are you here?"
At the sound of Sydney's voice, the person was startled and looked up at Sydney. When she saw Sydney, she panicked for a moment, but she quickly regained her composure. She gripped her bag and forced a smile. "Hello, Ms. Raines."
Sydney stared at her. "So do you have an apartment here?"
"No." Clarice shook her head honestly.
Sydney knitted her eyebrows. "Then why are you here? Don't tell me you came here on a walk. Eastview Haven and here are in two directions, one north and one south."
Clarice was silent for a few seconds and then suddenly stared at her. "Ms. Raines, I didn't come here for a walk. I came here to see you."
"Me?" Sydney raised her eyebrows, not much surprised by Clarice's answer.
Sydney had just realized that Clarice had probably come here for her.
"I don't think there is anything to talk about between me and you, Ms. Madden. So what did you want to see me about?" Sydney asked calmly, clutching the paper shopping bag in her arms.
Clarice bit her lip. "I just wanted to ask you a question."
If she hadn't known that Sydney might not answer her calls, Clarice wouldn't have come here in person at all.
"A question?" Sydney narrowed her eyes. "What question is worth you coming here?"
Clarice squeezed the bag handle in her hand again. "My father's health is getting worse and worse, and the doctor said that at this rate, he might not live more than six months."
"And then?" Sydney's eyes showed no emotion as she looked at Clarice.
Clarice took a deep breath. "My dad needs a kidney urgently now. I..."
"Stop!" Sydney's face was sullen, and her voice was full of coldness. "Are you here again to convince me to donate a kidney to Brandon? If so, please leave. I don't think we have anything to talk about next."
