Sydney pulled her hand out of Julien’s and sat down on the couch. "You need to work. You're not cheating on me. Even if you can't spare any time for me, you don't need to feel guilty. I'm not that clingy. I don't need you to be around me all the time. I have work too. When I'm busy, I can't keep your company either. Neither of us needs to apologize for that."
"OK," Julien said, nodding his head.
"Okay." Sydney patted the couch, gesturing for Julien to sit next to her. "As long as you are not cheating on me, I’m fine with the other things. We're adults, and we both have our careers except for our relationship. Sometimes we may be too busy to be there for each other, but it's not anyone's fault. You really don't need to feel guilty."
Julien looked into her eyes and he felt warm inside because he knew she was considerate toward him. He flashed a smile at the corners of his lips, "OK. We are good."
"Let's have lunch." Sydney grinned. She leaned forward slightly to look at the lunch box Julien was carrying. "What's in there?"
Julien put the lunch box on the coffee table and opened it, "On my way here, there's a Hunan restaurant. I remembered that you said you wanted to eat Hunan food last time, so I ordered some Hunan food."
Sydney immediately perked up, "Really? Great! I haven't eaten Hunan food for a long time! I miss Hunan food! Thank you, darling."
Julien was happy. "Come on! Have a taste. Let me know how you like them."
Julien placed the boxes on the table one by one.
Sydney picked up her fork and grinned, "I like them all."
"That's good. Try it." Julien handed her the fish. "I haven't had this food, so I'm not sure of the taste, but they look delicious."
"They must be delicious!" Sydney smiled. Then she took a bite of the fish.
Immediately, her tongue burned, and her face turned red. It was so spicy that her eyes welled up with tears.
This fish was really spicy.
Sydney opened her mouth, held the fork in one hand and kept fanning her mouth with the other hand as she grunted, "It's so hot!"
Seeing Sydney's eyes and lips turn red, Julien frowned. He hurriedly put down his fork and handed her a glass of water. "Have some water."
Sydney hurriedly took the glass of water and took a gulp.
The spicy taste was much reduced. She let out a long breath, put the glass down, and blinked her moist eyes at Julien, who had been watching her. "I haven't eaten spicy food in a long time. It's burning spicy."
Julien responded, "It's too spicy. Put it aside. I'll order some lighter food. Your stomach can't take such spicy food."
"No!" Sydney immediately stopped Julien from taking the food away. "It's just that I haven't eaten spicy food in too long. I need to get used to it after a few bites. There's no need to order any other food. I like them."
"I'm afraid you'll get a stomachache." Julien frowned. He regretted having bought such spicy food. 'Even if Leaf loves spicy food, I shouldn't let her eat such spicy food. It's not good for her stomach.'
Sydney shook her head, "I won't. Don't worry. I've eaten spicier foods. I know my stomach. I'm not a kid."
Anyway, Sydney wouldn't let Julien take the dishes away.
Seeing the expectant look in her eyes, Julien sighed, "Okay. I won't take them away, but you have to promise not to eat too much. If you get a stomachache later, I..."
"I will be at your disposal." Sydney interrupted him immediately.
Julien narrowed his eyes, "Really? I can do whatever I want to you?" A naughty smirk was in his eyes.
