'So it is.'
Sydney heaved a sigh of relief.
She had thought this man could read her mind.
A strand of hair had fallen from the running. She tucked it behind her ear, looked at Dallin, and slowly said, "Mr. Sullivan, you're indeed different from what I thought. I didn't expect you to be so easy-going. Please pardon my surprise."
It was just a social formula.
This man's appearance was deceptive. She was aware of his true color.
Easy-going?
It was just his disguise.
Just because of his deceptive appearance, she was less nervous facing him.
As if he didn't know it was just a social formula, Dallin waved his hand and smiled, "It's alright, Ms. Raines. Please pardon my assistant for his arrogance. I'm sorry for his rude behavior."
With that, he planned to bow to her.
Sydney hurriedly stopped him. "Mr. Sullivan, it's fine."
She knew that he was just putting on a show. A long-time higher-up like him didn't really mean to apologize and bow to her.
If she didn't stop him, the man would definitely hold a grudge against her even though he was smiling.
He could make blank apologies. If she really let him bow to her, he would blame and hate her.
Sure enough, Sydney's response delighted him so much that the smile on his face deepened.
He straightened up and grinned, "Ms. Raines, that's so nice of you."
Sydney forced a smile. "I'm flattered."
She simply didn't want to cause trouble.
Or else, he could only dream about her nice attitude.
Although there was no grudge between them, she hated him because he betrayed Julien's mother.
She naturally sided with the poor woman and resisted this scumbag.
"Ms. Raines, you're being modest. I mean it." Dallin's smile remained gentle.
His soft look made her frown.
She somehow found his look familiar.
Although she had seen a lot of gentle people before, people were different, and so was the gentleness they displayed.
But the gentleness displayed by Dallin at their first meeting resembled that displayed by another person she had seen. That was why she had a familiar feeling.
'Who is it?'
Sydney bit her lips and began to search in her memories.
Soon, a childish boy in a white shirt resurfaced in her mind.
Her mouth was agape.
It was Julien.
The person she remembered was Julien.
Sydney quickly looked at the man and compared him with the gentle boy in her memories.
In the end, she found that Julien used to have the same temperament as Dallin.
They couldn't have the same temperament unless one of them had been trained to mimic the other person.
