Julien took her hand and walked toward the lounge area. "My leaf is very smart. When I knew you customized a blue dress, I selected a set of blue jewelry among the jewelry left by my mother to match your dress. But I didn’t expect your blue dress to be destroyed, so I didn't give you the set of blue jewelry and chose this necklace."
"When did it happen?" Sydney queried while walking with him.
Julien's face hardened. "On the day when Greta destroyed the dress, I went to Flint Mansion."
Sydney immediately understood it and looked at him. "Did you go to Flint Mansion that day just to get the jewelry?"
"Yes." Julien nodded.
"Did the box you brought back that night contain the jewelry?" She asked again.
Julien uttered, "Yes. I initially planned to give you a surprise, but due to the incident, I didn't give you the jewelry."
"Well, it's better that you didn’t give them to me." A cold expression flickered across her face. "If you had given me the jewelry at that time, I would have felt even sadder when I saw them. You trusted me so much that you asked me to help bring back your suit. You went to prepare the jewelry for me, but I let you down. I didn’t even take good care of your suit.”
He stopped at this second, turned around and raised her chin.
Looking at his furrowed eyebrows and dissenting expression, she blinked. "What's up?"
"Don't say that about yourself." Julien continued, "You didn't let me down. You took the suit out of the store. It's not your fault that the suit was robbed and destroyed. After all, you couldn't stop a person from having bad intentions. Don't feel ashamed."
As he spoke, he stroked her lips with his thumb.
She gave him a glare and pushed his thumb away.
He chuckled. "Great! You become happy again."
Sydney came to a realization. "Do you take advantage of me just to make me stop feeling ashamed?"
"Certainly." Julien nodded. "You are sensitive. If I only comforted you, you would still feel ashamed now. It’s better to annoy you and divert your attention away from that matter. Then you won’t agonize over it."
"You really... Ha-ha!" Originally, she wanted to criticize him, but she erupted into laughter before saying those words.
How could she not laugh?
He was trying hard to make her happy. How could she criticize him?
If she had done so, she would have been ungrateful.
"You finally laugh." He squeezed her cheek lightly. "You should always smile. Don’t furrow your eyebrows in the future. You look most beautiful when you smile."
"I know." She flushed, took her hand out of his, and trotted forward with embarrassment.
Standing unmoved and seeing her trot forward, Julien let out a chuckle dotingly. Then he followed her.
Sophia and her assistant had been waiting for them in the lounge area.
Seeing them come back, Sofia and her assistant quickly put down the coffee and cake and stood up.
"Hello, Mr. Flint, Ms. Raines." Sophia greeted them with a smile.
Sydney responded with a smile.
Sophia asked, "Ms. Raines, Mr. Flint, what do you think of the dress? Shall I modify it?"
Sydney shook her head. "I think it is perfect. You don't have to modify it. But Julien, what’s your opinion?"
She turned to look at Julien, asking for his opinion.
After all, Julien was a jealous man.
Although this dress was not scanty, some parts of her shoulders and legs were exposed.
So, it was likely that he disliked the dress and wanted Sofia to modify it.
