When Julien walked halfway, the phone in his pocket rang.
He took the phone out, cast a glance at the caller ID casually, and tapped to answer the call. "What's up?"
The call was from Zach. Hearing Julien’s question, he quickly replied, "Mr. Flint, the person we sent to watch Dallin said that Dallin took action, as he went out this afternoon."
"Where did he go?" Julien's face darkened right away.
On the other end of the phone, Zach pushed his glasses up and answered, "He went to the Benson family."
"The Benson family?" Julien narrowed his eyes. "Why did he go to the Benson family? Does he keep in touch with the Benson family?"
The Benson family, an established family in Port City, settled in the city hundreds of years ago. Different from the families dealing in business, the Benson family was a famous scholarly family and enjoyed a very good reputation. The people from the Benson family were restrained and always kept a low profile. And the Benson family didn't have close relationships with other families.
All in all, compared with other families, the Benson family was detached and separate.
But everything has an exception. The Benson family had a very good relationship with the Flint family.
This was because Mr. Benson Sr., who had died, used to be the guard of Julien’s grandfather.
In the war years, Mr. Benson Sr. helped Julien's grandfather avoid a bullet.
Although that bullet wouldn't kill his grandfather as it wasn’t aimed at his grandfather’s heart or head, Mr. Benson Sr. had the incomparable courage to block the bullet with his body.
So, Julien was concerned with the Benson family.
And he also knew the Benson family very well. He learned that except his family, the Benson family wasn’t on good terms with other families, let alone the Sullivan family in Jackal City.
But now Dallin went to the Benson family, and Julien couldn't help doubting if he knew the Benson family adequately.
Or was it that the Benson family had always been in contact with the Sullivan family and hid their contact from the Flint family?
If so, Julien would contemplate whether to continue supporting and caring for the Benson family.
Though Mr. Benson Sr. blocked the bullet for Julien's grandfather, the Flint family repaid the kindness. When the Benson family was labeled as rebels and was about to be driven to a farm, it was Julien's grandfather who helped them out.
At that time, Julien's grandfather repaid the Benson family's kindness.
The reason why the Flint family showed support and care for the Benson family was that Julien valued the sincere relationship between Mr. Benson Sr. and his grandfather.
And it was a piece of cake for the Flint family to offer some help to the Benson family.
As decades rolled by, the Flint family was used to helping the Benson family, and they didn't bother to change the habit.
But if the Benson family had something to do with the Sullivan family covertly, Julien wouldn't let the Benson family live in peace.
Julien could be generous to the Benson family and provide support for them. But he couldn't allow them to enjoy his support and have any contact with the Sullivan family, the enemy of the Flint family, at the same time.
If this was the case, the Benson family was ungrateful.
Although Zach didn't know what Julien was thinking about, Zach could sense that his tone became cold when he learned Dallin had gone to the Benson family.
