The Billionaire’s Secret Quartet novel Chapter 1075

How could he have the audacity to claim he ever loved her mother? Whenever Bruce brought up her mother’s name now, Thalassa was consumed by a rage so fierce she could kill him.

To hear the name Evelyn from Bruce's lips was an insult to her memory!

"Don't make me sick. Your daughter is Susan! I have nothing to do with you!" Thalassa growled with fury.

The hatred she had for Bruce was once a suppressed whisper, but now it roared unrestrained.

"Calm down, will ya? I'm in a decent mood for now, but if you keep up with that nasty talk, I might just get riled up enough to let slip something you'd rather keep under wraps," Bruce threatened over the phone.

"What the hell do you want?" Thalassa hissed through clenched teeth.

Bruce was still holding that damn video over her head – a pure bluff at this point, as he had no leverage left.

"Here's the thing," Bruce, touching his nose on the other end, said, "I'm a bit strapped for cash at the moment. Why don't you wire me a cool two million?"

He said it as if it was the most natural request in the world, without a hint of politeness.

Thalassa was so enraged she laughed, "Why should your financial woes be my concern? Your precious Susan climbed the social ladder and snagged Lysander, didn't she? Go ask her for the money! Leave me out of it!"

"Hey, listen…" Bruce started, but the line went dead.

Furious, Bruce tossed his phone on the desk, a sinister glint in his eyes.

Thalassa, what makes you so bold? You'll spend your life dancing to my tune! He thought.

Back in the hospital room, Thalassa tossed her phone aside after ending the call. The simmering anger, which she had barely contained, flared up once more with Bruce's call, pulling at her nerves and causing her stomach to churn with discomfort.
