The Billionaire’s Secret Quartet novel Chapter 1087

"Come on, Mom really needs the cash. Can't you just give her some?" Susan urged impatiently.

Bruce rubbed the back of his neck with discomfort, "I've already given all the cash I had to your mother - every last dime. I thought you had a decent amount saved up from your allowance. Could you maybe help her out until we get back on our feet?"

"You two are useless, draining our savings like a leaky faucet!" Susan snapped, frustration clear in her voice.

Bruce braced himself for his daughter's contempt and pushed on, "How much money do you have saved up right now?"

"That pocket money you gave me? It's been gone for ages!" Susan replied, her face stone-cold.

"What?" Bruce felt a wave of disappointment wash over him.

"But, I've made some of my own," Susan added, her tone shifting.

"You've made your own? How much?" Hope flickered in Bruce's eyes again.

Susan's eyelashes fluttered down, shielding the dark shadows and the sense of humiliation in her eyes as she said, "Two hundred and fifteen thousand."

"Sweetheart, you've made two hundred and fifteen thousand on your own? That's incredible! You're truly your father's daughter," Bruce beamed with pride.

Hearing her father's praise brought a little comfort to Susan, but it did little to dispel the hurt lurking in her eyes.

She kept her gaze lowered, unable to meet Bruce's proud look, and said, "I'll give you two hundred thousand to invest in the stock market. The remaining fifteen thousand, I'll keep for myself."
