Thalassa glanced at Lysander's leg and then up at him. Worry and tension were clear as day in her clear eyes.
Lysander caught her concern and attempted to downplay the injury, "It's just a scratch, no big deal."
Despite his casual words, Thalassa saw the harsh reality—a large swath of his calf was burned, several blisters had popped, and the mingling of blood and pus was a gruesome sight.
He must have gotten burned while rescuing her.
Her heart clenched with a mix of guilt and anxiety.
After finishing in the bathroom, she stood up and was ready to leave.
Lysander reached out to carry her, but she quickly stepped away, heading for the door to dodge his embrace.
She had been first carried in because she was totally unprepared, but now she had to make her own way out. Her legs were not hurt; she just needed oxygen
The person who hurt his leg was Lysander, and the thought of making him carry her was unbearable.
Walking with resolute steps, Thalassa left the bathroom. Lysander didn't press further and followed her with the oxygen tank in tow.
Back at the bedside, Thalassa reclined and gestured for Lysander to set the tank down, her gaze then returning to his leg, silently urging him to tend to his wound.
Lysander complied with placing the tank back but didn't leave her side. Instead, he sat down by her bed, locking eyes with her as if afraid she'd vanish the moment he looked away.
Thalassa, seeing that he hadn't moved to treat his injury, checked the oxygen tank anxiously. It had a timer showing how much time was left—just five minutes remaining.
As soon as the timer hit zero, Thalassa quickly removed the oxygen mask and, barely catching her breath, urged Lysander, "Go to the infirmary and get that leg looked at now."
