The Billionaire’s Secret Quartet novel Chapter 1223

"Seriously? He got down on one knee for you?" Lysander's voice, deep and slightly out of tune, broke the silence as he quizzed Thalassa.

He was toying with her chin, forcing her to look up into his eyes, leaving no room for evasion.

"What are you talking about?" Thalassa struggled to keep pace with his thoughts.

"He was on his knees, hiking up your dress!" Lysander's words were tinged with barely contained rage.

The moment he had stepped into the restaurant, his gaze had landed on a scene that set his blood boiling. There was Callum, down on one knee in front of Thalassa, a hand lifting the hem of her skirt, looking at her thighs.

The mere image was enough to stoke the fires of fury within Lysander, his aura turning sharp and cold as ice.

Realization dawned on Thalassa, and she hurried to clarify, "It's not what you think. The waitress accidentally spilled soup on me and he was just checking to see if I had been scalded."

At the time, Thalassa herself had been taken aback by Callum's sudden gesture.

Lysander's eyes narrowed, his brows knitting together in a frown as he released her chin and began to lift her skirt, revealing her fair leg beneath.

The skin was a bit red from the burn, but thankfully, the damage was superficial.

Lysander's scowl eased as he sat up and reached for the wet wipes in the glove compartment, pulling one out and gently wiping the reddened spot on her leg.

The wipe’s cool touch brought relief to Thalassa's skin.

As he sat back, the imposing presence of Lysander's frame receded, easing the pressure on Thalassa. Supporting herself on the car seat, she also sat up.

She watched as Lysander discarded the used wipe and took out another, continuing to cool the burn on her leg.

Thalassa couldn't help but think, she wasn't really hurt, why was he so meticulously doing this?

Was he being overly concerned?
