Angelina was at her wit's end. She'd been trying to pull Alaric out of the mire, yet he seemed determined to march to the beat of his own drum in the opposite direction.

But Angelina had heard enough, "Enough! Since you've already bedded Georgia and there's an engagement in the works, just set a date and get married with her. It's non-negotiable."

After laying down her words, Angelina stormed back to her room. She shut the door with a thud and took several deep breaths to calm her seething anger.

After college, Alaric had started working at the Falconer Group's headquarters, but within a year, he had been shuffled off to a branch office to serve as the general manager. Since that move, he'd changed. His once meticulous and ambitious demeanor had slackened, his passion had fizzled out, and he seemed utterly indifferent to the affairs of the main office.
