The Billionaire’s Secret Quartet novel Chapter 1266

Lysander's aura was a tempest of icy fury, a blizzard that froze the fiery anxiety in Thalassa's heart, cleaving it in two with the chill of a winter's night.

Her heart clenched with pain at the words he uttered.

Her breathing hitched as she gazed into Lysander's face, a portrait of frosty severity. With a faint smile, she quipped, "If you wanted to kill me, you should've let me fall into the lake and drown. Don't worry. I can't swim and I wouldn't have stood a chance."

A tremor shook Lysander's icy gaze, a hidden sting in his eyes as his breath, cold and trembling, brushed against her face. Through gritted teeth, he warned, "If you're going to die, you'll die by my hand!"

With that, he scooped her up in his arms.

Instinctively, Thalassa wrapped her arms around his neck, but as she realized what he was doing, she started to push him away. "Put me down!"

His hand pinched a vulnerable spot on her waist.

That tender area, already delicate, recoiled under the strength of Lysander's grip. Thalassa's body curled like a shrimp, a sharp gasp escaping her before she tensed up.

Her face paled, and she glared at him. "What are you doing?!"

"Watch your behavior, or else you know what I'm capable of," Lysander shot her a chilling glance as he carried her away.

His words caused a flush of embarrassment to rush to her cheeks, her pale skin turning a deep crimson.

She held her breath, choosing silence. Arguing with Lysander was a battle she always lost.

If he wanted her dead, why did he save her from drowning? And despite his anger and hatred, why did he still hold her?
