The Billionaire’s Secret Quartet novel Chapter 1353

When Evelyn passed away, Hertha was in the thick of her own family drama, with her parents constantly pushing her to settle down and get married. She was so overwhelmed that she forgot to visit or call Thalassa for a while.

It was only later that she heard the news.

Thalassa managed a smile and said, "It's okay, it's all in the past now."

As she spoke, she cradled her cup of coffee, her lashes casting shadows on her cheeks, a veil for her sorrow.

The mere mention of her mother could wrench Thalassa's heart with grief.

Hertha reached out, gently patting Thalassa's shoulder in comfort. "Don't be upset, sweetie. Evelyn's spirit wouldn't want you to be sad."

If anyone understood Thalassa, it was Hertha. How could she not sense Thalassa's deep-seated pain?

Thalassa set down her glass and smiled broadly, "I'm fine, really. The pain's behind me."

"You should be happy now, you know. You're finally free from Lysander's clutches," Hertha remarked.

The twists and turns of it all had been relayed to Hertha by David.

Thalassa blamed Lysander for indirectly causing her mother's death. She also believed that Lysander had always detested Evelyn, which was why he had driven her to her end. Just as he had done with Leopold.

Lysander was cold-blooded and heartless. He was even capable of tormenting his own nephew to death.

What then would he spare for a woman like Evelyn who was a total stranger to him, and worse, entangled in an illicit affair with his sworn enemy?

Thalassa was anguished by Evelyn's death, and had cut all ties with Lysander. She had eventually found her release.
