The Billionaire’s Secret Quartet novel Chapter 1407

Alaric's face was a portrait of barely-contained fury.

Georgia could tell he was truly pissed, her heart skipping a beat as her usual haughty attitude took a nosedive. In a meek voice, she said, "Alaric, I... I didn't mean what I said just now."

"Just go!" Alaric ground out between clenched teeth, a low growl in his voice. The eyes that usually sparkled with charisma now blazed with a quiet rage, forbidding Georgia to come any closer.

Georgia froze, startled by the anger in his voice.

Alaric continued, his voice rising, "And I meant every word I said. You go tell your parents right now. Go on, hurry up!"

The last words came out in a roar.

He had been living this repressed, suffocating life for three years. He couldn't take it anymore.

Tears started to well in Georgia's eyes from fear and pride alike. She was too proud and too stubborn to simply give in to Alaric.

With a mix of hurt and anger, she glanced at Alaric with mournful eyes and then shot a furious look at Hertha before she spun on her heel, hit the elevator button and stepped inside.

She was afraid that if she stayed even a second longer, her temper would erupt, and she'd end up throwing a tantrum, hurling objects, or lashing out at Alaric.

Right now, they were only engaged, not yet married. She had to listen to her mother, to control her temper, not to break things and not to hit anyone.

Otherwise, Alaric would be even less likely to marry her.

She needed to bear it, to bide her time. Once she married Alaric, she could let her temper fly freely.

As the elevator doors closed, Georgia could no longer hold back. She was so enraged that her face contorted as she kicked the elevator wall, her chest heaving with anger, cursing under her breath, "That shameless Hertha, I swear, one day I'll make her disappear from this world! And Alaric, you damn scoundrel, just wait until we're married, I'll show you who's boss!"
