The Billionaire’s Secret Quartet novel Chapter 1725

"Wait here for a bit, alright? Let the last visitor leave before you go in," the officer instructed Thalassa, guiding her to sit on a bench outside the visitor's room.

Thalassa nodded, and the officer hurried off to attend to other duties.

She found herself sitting against the wall, pondering curiously. Susan had no known family left in the world. Who could possibly know she was locked up here, looking to have a word with her?

Driven by curiosity, Thalassa leaned closer to the wall, hoping to catch a snippet of the conversation from the other side.

Indeed, muffled voices seeped through, the wall's insulation leaving much to be desired.

"Callum, you've deceived me again!" Susan's voice, laden with anger, reverberated.

Callum? He came back to see Susan?

At the mention of that name, Thalassa felt a pang of curiosity. She hadn't expected Callum to be the visitor.

"I haven't lied to you," Callum responded, his tone calm.

"Not lied? It was you who convinced me to come back, arranged for me to model at the jewelry competition. You're the one who had me switch Thalassa's designs, assuring me the surveillance was wiped and all I had to do was accuse Thalassa of fraud on stage! But then you turned the tables on me, showing Thalassa's original work and playing the surveillance for all to see. You set me up to be jailed, didn't you?" Susan's voice trembled with fury, demanding answers from Callum.

Originally, when she had kidnapped Thalassa but failed to kill her, it was Callum who had arranged for her to lay low abroad. Though life had been tough overseas, it was safe. Suddenly, Callum had someone bring her back, promising a return to her modeling career and a shot at a normal life.

After years of living in exile, constantly on the run and despised, Susan was fed up. But even worse was the discrimination and rejection she faced abroad.
