The Billionaire’s Secret Quartet novel Chapter 685

Thalassa's fear instantly dissipated upon seeing him. Her tears fell uncontrollably.

Lysander turned around and turned his deep-set gaze toward her tear-streaked face; he reached out his arms to wrap around her waist, pulling her into his embrace. His low, magnetic voice resonated under the cold, dark sky, offering a comforting warmth, "You're safe now."

Thalassa rested her forehead on his chest; her hands clung onto his shirt, and her body was shivering uncontrollably, wetting his shirt with her tears.

The ordeal she had just undergone was terrifying. There was a thunderstorm and also a wild monkey attack. She thought her life was going to end there.

But then, Lysander came.

Lysander's arm around her waist tightened as he sensed her shaky body; while his other hand gently stroked her back to give her comfort.

He remembered her fear of thunderstorms.

When she worked as a cleaner at the Sinclair Group, even the thunder reverberating through the rooms would scare her enough to jump into his arms.

Now they were out in the wilderness with wild monkeys and thunderstorms, so her fear must have doubled.

Thalassa, frail as she was, felt the warmth from his large hand gently stroking her back.

His hand, roughened with callouses, could spark a warmth on her chilled back even through the fabric. That warmed her body up.

Thalassa was genuinely terrified. She clung onto Lysander's shirt as if it was a lifeline. She couldn't calm down that quickly so she rested in his arms and cried like a child.

In the past five years, she had been out there, fighting on her own, earning for her family, and being the strong pillar for her kids. Regardless of the difficulties and obstacles, she bore them all alone.

Even when she was tired or in pain, she would hide away and lick her wounds alone.

She was the support for her kids and Evelyn, so if she showed signs of weakness, it would only put Evelyn and the kids in a more helpless situation.

Therefore, she always put on a cheerful and optimistic front when she was with her family no matter how hard and tough her time was.
