The Billionaire’s Secret Quartet novel Chapter 767

"Where do you live?" Alaric asked.

The place he had always assumed Hertha to live in was actually Thalassa’s home, and he had always thought the four kids of Lysander and Thalassa to be hers.

So, he had no idea at all where Hertha actually lived.

"What are you doing now? Dropping me home? I don't need it!" Hertha huffed, puffing her cheeks out in irritation. "Take me to the bar. I haven't had my fill yet!"

Alaric's face darkened; he said in a stern voice, "Hertha, are you trying to ruin yourself? That guy's as old as the hills and you know he's only drinking with you to get you drunk. You know what happens after that and I don't need to spell it out!"

"Do you think I want to drink with him? It's for work!" Hertha sat up straight; her eyes were flashing with anger.

Her large, round eyes were filled with a mixture of hurt and rage.

"You can find another job, but if you lose yourself, you can't find that again," Alaric said; his usual laid-back demeanor was replaced by a serious expression.

At his words, something tightened in Hertha's chest, and her hands clenched on the cushion behind her. Tears welled in her eyes as she snapped, "Why do you care if I lose myself? You're not my family and I don't need you to look after me! I won't go home, so take me to the bar!"

She was puffing and being stubborn.

"Hertha, don't be so headstrong," Alaric warned, his face stern.

"I will be so headstrong! If you won't take me, I'll get a cab myself! I'm upset now and why can't I even have a drink? What are you, my dad or mom? Why are you trying to control everything?" Hertha's voice was quick with emotion, which was a clear sign of her distress.

"Enough of this. Just give me your address," Alaric said, not wanting to be led by her.

"You're not going? Fine, I'll jump out!" Hertha's eyes filled with tears as she made an impulse move to open the car door.

Seeing her actions in the rear-view mirror, Alaric barked, "Hertha, sit down and behave!"

But Hertha continued, her knuckles white and her face desperate as she pounded on the locked door.
