Thalassa had assumed David was about to bail, leaving her to face the inevitable tongue-lashing.
Yet, just as she had braced herself for what was to come, Lysander released her, their foreheads touching, his breath heavy and uneven, trying to regain composure.
Thalassa's eyes were filled with tears, her mind spinning. She was forced to endure Lysander's intense breathing, his large hand gently stroking her face as if trying to soothe his own flaring temper with the warmth of her skin.
David was the first to get off the car, silent, not even looking back. The less he knew about Mr. Sinclair's private matters, the better.
Otherwise, he'd be the one to pay the price.
Having been at Lysander's side for many years, David understood this principle all too well.
After a while, Lysander managed to rein in his intense reaction. He released Thalassa, and got out of the car.
Coming back to her senses, Thalassa hurriedly followed him.
Stepping out, she realized they were at a large mall.
Hadn't David been driving according to the coordinates of her necklace? Why had they ended up at a mall?
Could her necklace be in the mall?
But she had lost it at the office.
Lysander glanced at her before heading into the mall.
Thalassa quickly followed.
Entering the mall, Thalassa immediately spotted four adorable little kids standing in front of a branded jewelry counter.
Who else could they be but her four little darlings?
