The Billionaire’s Secret Quartet novel Chapter 989

Thalassa was on a mission to see Lysander, and just the mention of his name sent a shiver of panic through her heart.

David had graciously stepped aside to let her pass and stood by the elevator with an expectant posture, waiting for her to enter. Moments before, Thalassa had been jovially bantering with David.

Now, the atmosphere had taken a serious turn, and her heart clenched with a mix of fear and resolve.

Despite her trepidation, she stepped into the elevator. She had come this far; there was no backing down now.

As soon as the elevator doors slid shut, David turned to leave, a smile still playing on his lips.

Thalassa's personal visit to Lysander would surely lift his spirits. Otherwise, the whole office seemed to be trapped under a cloud of gloom so thick it was hard to breathe.

The elevator ascended smoothly to the executive floor. Thalassa stepped out and approached the president's office door.

Her hand trembled as she prepared to press the doorbell, her heart pounding as if trying to escape her chest. She had mustered all her courage to come here, but now, the prospect of facing Lysander alone filled her with dread.

Taking several deep breaths and steeling herself, she finally pressed the doorbell.

As soon as her finger left the bell, the glass door swung open as if it had been waiting just for her.

With her heart hanging by a thread, Thalassa walked into the office.

The chill in the air hit her immediately, tightening her skin as she looked ahead to see Lysander's imposing figure seated in a leather chair, exuding an aura of quiet power.

His penetrating deep eyes fixed on her, like a predator watching its prey draw near.

Despite her nervousness, Thalassa moved forward step by step until she was just a foot away from the desk. She fought to keep her panic at bay as she began, “Mr. Sinclair, I’m Thalassa, Mr. Ethan’s secretary. I’m here to discuss the follow-up of our last contract. The collaboration has ceased, and Mr. Ethan sent me to discuss the terms of our disengagement.”

Thalassa maintained a strictly professional tone.
