The Billionaire’s Secret Quartet novel Chapter 992

"Invite me to lunch?" Thalassa thought she had misheard, her response tinged with disbelief.

"Yeah, my wife found out you're my daughter. She's been pretty harsh to you and your mom before, and I was making a scene about getting a divorce. Now she's regretful and wants to invite you over for a meal, apologize, and accept you as my daughter." Bruce emphasized the word "daughter" as if to remind Thalassa of her newfound, publicly acknowledged status.

"And why exactly should your marital spats involve me?" Thalassa spat back with contempt. If it weren't for Bruce's despicable threat of leaking that video online, she wouldn't even consider picking up his calls.

"Are you saying you don't want to come?" Bruce's voice, once feigning kindness, turned icy.

"Why should I have to?" Thalassa struggled to keep her anger at bay, her disgust evident.

"Let's put it this way. I didn't come home last night, and my wife was checking up on me. I told her I was with you—my daughter. What could I possibly do to you? She didn't believe me. She wants you to come over for a meal to figure out if we were really together last night." Bruce's voice was cold and unadorned with any pretense.

Thalassa felt a tightness in her chest, a suffocating pain fueled by fury.

Shaking with hatred, she gripped her phone so hard she thought it might break, teeth clenched to hold back a stream of curses.

Bruce had the audacity to bring up last night!

Did he not realize how vile and utterly devoid of morals he was?

He knew full well what he had tried to do to her, and now he had the gall to use her status as his daughter as a cover, deceiving his wife, trying to absolve himself of suspicion!

Thalassa didn't speak, her breathing ragged with rage, biting down on her anger to avoid lashing out.

"Come over for lunch, it's the perfect timing. I'll send you the address. I expect to see you within the hour, otherwise, I'll be sending out something else," Bruce's loathsome voice came through again, laced with threat.

He hung up, confident she would come. He had given her plenty of time.
