Nate's eyelid twitched. Ten pounds of fruit? Did they want him to die from overeating?
"Okay," he forced out a reply and gave Chloe an awkward smile before leaving the study.
Chloe watched Nate leave and leaned against the edge of the table, looking at Damon.
"Are you being sarcastic? Who can eat ten pounds of fruit in one go?"
Damon raised an eyebrow at Chloe. "Sarcastic? I'm just concerned about my employee. Didn't you say that fruit is the healthiest food?"
That was a slick excuse.
Nate drove to the fruit shop alone. As soon as he entered, he shouted to the owner, "Boss, I want ten pounds of apples."
"Pick your own and get a bag from the side!"
The shop owner was busy weighing fruit for other customers, so Nate had to pick his own fruit.
"How much is this watermelon?" A woman with a loud voice suddenly asked next to him.
"One pound for one point five dollars. The one in your hand is probably around fifteen dollars..."
Nate's hand picking apples stopped.
One pound for one point five dollars, fifteen dollars for one watermelon, did that mean a single watermelon weighed ten pounds?
He turned to look at the watermelon in the woman's hand and suddenly felt that watermelon was the most appealing fruit in the world!
