He wouldn't admit for a second that he was just bad at the game of Go.
Ellinor followed Quinton to Balfour's guest room.
Upon entering, she saw Patricia and Haillie were also there.
Patricia was sobbing in her wheelchair, and Haillie was comforting her and offering her tissues.
Haillie shot Ellinor a displeased look when she entered.
Ellinor didn't give a hoot about the two and turned her gaze to Balfour, who was lounging arrogantly on the sofa.
He had a steaming cup of coffee in his hand and took a light sip.
She approached and asked, "Mr. Howard, you summoned me. What's up?"
Balfour looked at her with his eyes slightly narrowed. "Did you push Patri and cause her injury?"
"No."
Ellinor denied without hesitation.
Balfour asked again, "Did you just publicly expose Patri?"
Ellinor remained unfazed, "I just told the truth."
Balfour huffed, "Then, what's the deal with you having my grandfather acknowledge you as his granddaughter?"
Ellinor answered, "Old Mr. Bagley took a liking to me; I didn't want to be rude, so I agreed."
Balfour chuckled, "So, you were forced?"
Ellinor nodded, "Yes, I felt very compelled."
Balfour's expression turned icy in an instant.
