On the flip side, Ellinor was on her way home.
Her mind was a total mess as she relived Theo's injuries, his last look at her, and their misunderstanding.
She was freaking out!
As soon as she walked through the door, her cat came over to rub against her foot.
Having swapped her shoes for slippers, Ellinor bent down to pick up her cat, feeling a bit more at ease.
Chase was brewing coffee in the kitchen. Seeing her return, he asked, "Why are you back so early? Any juicy gossip from Old Mr. Bagley's birthday party?"
Ellinor sat down with the cat in her arms, flopping onto the couch, "Yeah, I got some."
She was mistaken by old Mr. and Mrs. Bagley for their granddaughter, unintentionally, but still, that counted.
This way, it would be much easier for her to go dig up some dirt on the Bagley family in the future.
Something seemed off to Chase, "Eh? Why the long face if you got something?"
Ellinor replied, "Tired!"
Chase handed her a glass of milk, "What's up? Did you dance your feet off at the party?"
Ellinor took the milk, gave Chase, who was always ready with a barb, a look, and then told him about the test results from the hospital.
Upon hearing this, Chase furrowed his brows in alert, "Someone tampered with your lab report; who would do such a thing?"
Ellinor chuckled, "If I'm not mistaken, it should be Patricia; she's the only one who would keep an eye on me and pull this kind of stunt."
Chase thought it over and agreed.
"Actually, Patricia unwittingly did you a favor this time. Otherwise, Theo would've found out you were pregnant with his child."
