After a deep thought, a slight hint of resentment surfaced in Ellinor's eyes as she looked at Patricia. "You're right, you won! But you didn't really beat me, you just won because you have a brother who’s willing to stand up for you!"
Brother...
Ellinor had never felt such irony in this word!
Balfour, her brother born of the same mother and father, had taken the side of the villain who had driven their mother to despair, and he even cherished and protected the daughter of that villain?
All of Balfour's intelligence was focused on his work! He's a real turncoat!
Patricia said smugly, "Are you jealous that I have such a good brother? You can't have him no matter how much you envy me! You can't get fate by being envious! Now, just accept the operation obediently. I might be merciful and keep my brother from bothering you in the future!"
Ellinor chuckled. "Is there such a thing as mercy, Ms. Howard?"
Patricia's face froze, she glared at Ellinor, then turned to the people behind her and yelled, "Quinton, Ellinor says she's ready for the operation!"
Quinton came up to arrange it, and Ellinor was taken into the operating room by the medical staff...
Patricia sat outside the operating room waiting for good news, her eyes and heart filled with triumph.
As long as Ellinor's child no longer existed, she could no longer pose a threat to her!
She didn't want her happy marriage life with Theo to be disrupted by Ellinor coming back with an illegitimate child, trying to win Theo's heart and the Blanchet family's fortune!
She absolutely couldn't let that happen!
But just as she was feeling self-satisfied, a tall figure suddenly appeared in the hospital corridor.
Patricia was surprised, "Theo, why are you here?"
Theo didn't even look at her, he walked straight past her, ignoring the medical staff's attempts to stop him, and kicked open the door of the operating room!
