The Kiss that Sparked it All novel Chapter 702

Balfour was staring daggers at his beloved Patri, "You sure you saw it with your own eyes?"

Patricia was a bit shaken under his intense gaze, showing a hint of hurt, "…Really? Don't you trust me?"

Balfour squinted his bright eyes as doubt began to linger within them, "Then why did Baber say it wasn’t Ellinor who hurt him?"

Baber said that? Patricia froze, and then it hit her. The call he just took must have been from Quinton.

Baber must have said something to Quinton, who then relayed it to Balfour over the phone.

Not knowing what Baber had said exactly, a wave of panic washed over Patricia, yet she managed to keep her cool.

"Baber's just a kid; he can't even articulate properly. How could he possibly describe what really happened? Quinton must have misunderstood him!"

Balfour's doubt didn't fade away, "Even though Baber can't narrate complex events, Quinton showed him Ellinor's picture, asking if she was the one who hurt him. But he kept shaking his head, insisting it wasn't her."

Patricia blinked uncomfortably, her eyes welling up again, "Baber was facing away from Ellinor at the time. He didn't see who attacked him. It's normal that he doesn't know who it was! And I saw everything. It wasn’t just me, our maid saw it too!"

After mentioning the maid, who was crouched surreptitiously to one side from the beginning, Balfour shot her a glance.

He hadn't really paid attention to her before, but now he recognized her.

She was the maid in charge of making the soup that Patri liked. They were quite close.
