"And you can't divorce me, even for this! And I will never get a divorce from you! I did sleep with Dr. Zack, but I was drunk then and he took advantage of me while I lost my consciousness. Besides, that was before we got married, and you and I were on a break, s o that was not me cheating on you!"
This time, Billy spoke coldly, "Are you finished?"
"Why don't you say something? I've explained so much, but you haven't responded to a single word. What the hell do you mean?" Natalie was desperate.
"You are right, and it makes sense. What else do you want me to say?" Billy asked nonchalantly.
Natalie was speechless. She didn't know what to say o r how to think about his attitude.
After a while, she asked, "So you forgive me?"
Billy threw her a vague reply, "What do you think?"
His expression and tone were both ambiguous. She couldn't guess what he was thinking. Natalie was agitated and asked, "You still want to divorce me?"
"Yes." Billy answered explicitly, without a moment's hesitation.
"But it's impossible! That's no way I will get a divorce
with you! I'm pregnant now. You can't divorce me." Natalie became furious.
"You're right." Billy agreed with her, "So you don't need to take my words seriously. Just eat and sleep well, and take good care of yourself. Now I'm going to work. Get out of the way."
"What do you mean by that?" Natalie was puzzled. She was still standing at the door, blocking his path. She refused to get out of the way. "Don't work tonight, please. I'm begging you. Come back with me to the bedroom. Have a good rest. And we can talk about it."
Billy lost his patience and finally, he exploded with rage, "Get out of the way!"
