Lying in bed, Brad said he was hungry.
Eileen hurriedly microwaved the spaghetti she had brought back and served Brad.
Brad happily took the bowl and enjoyed it.
Unexpectedly, Eileen felt a bit nervous, checked her watch for the umpteenth times. She tried to compose herself, 'Relax. It's not the first time to see him.'
Eileen got a call from Sherman as Brad finished eating. "He’s downstairs."
The ward was full of the smell of mushrooms. Eileen opened the window to ventilate the ward and went to dump the garbage.
Brad sat on the bed, ripped off his hospital gown as his dad did, then shook his head vigorously, messing up all his hair, pinching himself a few times before laying down.
No sooner had Brad lay down than the door was opened.
Luke went in and strode to the bed.
Brad pretended to be asleep and didn't move at all.
Luke's eyes fell upon Brad's face, "It’s just a few days. How come you look so thin these days?" He sounded very down.
Brad licked his lips secretly.
His mind was full of the shredded pancake, chicken, spaghetti, and hamburger...
Luke fondled Brad's cheeks and then went to Brad's attending physician's office, "Tell me honestly, how is my son?"
The physician looked embarrassed and didn't know how to put it.
After all, it was Mr. Wright who told him to do that, but it was true that the boy wasn't sick.
However, the physician's hesitation and embarrassment were mistaken by Luke for Brad's condition being too serious.
Luke felt his heart was completely been ripped out.
He took out his phone and made a call to an Athana hospital.
"I need the best doctors in cardiology and the most advanced equipment. I'm good for the money. The plane will pick you up immediately, and you must be in Lanechett by 6 p.m. tomorrow!"
He did not forget Merlin's illness. Her face was always pale. She couldn't run or jump, and she was always breathing heavily.
He couldn't let his son go through this kind of torture!
He and Brad were the only ones left in the Bennington family. How could he let his son have an accident?
He would cure Brad if it cost him everything!
