Jazz just woke up to see Essa sitting on the edge of his bed and looking at him with a warm smile. "Get up. Have some pumpkin soup."
He propped himself up and sat up. "Why do you look so gentle today?"
"It was all my fault before. Thank you so much for what you have done for Winston! And please be prepared, because I will always be so gentle with you. You are simply the lifesaver in my life! I have to treat you well. Otherwise, TH be damned!"
Jazz not only helped her out at work but also helped her pay for the medical bills and saved Winston's life. In a nutshell, Jazz was her lifesaver!
So, Essa felt that she had to do her best to treat her lifesaver.
"I can’t believe you know the word damn. That must've been very hard for you to say."
"Of course!" Essa greeted him with a smile. At this point, Essa was very nice and polite to him.
Jazz leaned back against the bed and looked at her askance. "I now completely understand what it means to be two-faced. You change your attitude too fast!"
"Are you saying you don’t like this attitude I have towards you now, or do you prefer the kind of attitude I used to have towards you? It doesn't matter. That won't be a problem. I'll treat you the way you like to be treated." She passed the spoon she was holding to his mouth and seemed to be very easy to communicate with.
"Okay. You don't have to do that. I just like the way you're pleasing me right now." He waved his hand. Watching Essa carefully act like his maid, Jazz felt comfortable and pleasant.
Essa felt very speechless. And she expected Jazz to be more and more shameless.
However, he was her lifesaver, and she had a big heart, so she would not argue with him!
"Okay. What else do you want to eat? Do you want to eat something salty, sweet, or spicy?" Essa felt that a bowl of pumpkin soup wouldn't be enough for him.
Jazz liked her attitude more and more. He thought hard about it and then answered," Something salty."
After tucking him in, Essa smiled softly, told him to wait a while, and then walked out of the ward.
