Hailey was dumbstruck, staring at him, completely in disbelief.
"You're forcing me."
"Yeah." Cedric shrugged indifferently, "I am forcing you, so what?"
His arrogant attitude left Hailey speechless.
She tried to ignore him, attempting to leave, but he pulled her back.
"If you don't want me rummaging through your room, give me your documents."
On hearing this, Hailey frowned.
"My records are incomplete, I'm an orphan."
"Don't lie to me, I've seen them in your house before."
Now an adult, Hailey frowned even more at his words.
"Even if I give you those documents, you can't force me to marry you if I don't agree."
"So…" Cedric leaned towards her, gripping her shoulders, "I'm begging you."
His words hit Hailey like a ton of bricks, causing her some pain.
She looked up at his handsome face, which began to overlap with the one in her memory.
In that moment, she deeply felt her love for him, which might have silently increased over time.
She knew, once she fell for Cedric, it would be hard for her to let go of him in this lifetime. Faced with such clear consciousness, would she choose him again?
"Forget it, what use is my begging?"
She didn't respond, Cedric suddenly let go of her, moved to the dresser, opened the drawer, and started rummaging.
Hailey watched Cedric's back, her heart filled with complex emotions, wave after wave, leaving her at a loss.
She knew, if she chose him, she would have to accept the constant appearance of other women beside him, be they pursuers or otherwise, she would have to endure.
