Hailey returned to the ward, stood at the door, but didn't dare to go in.

It wasn't that she was afraid of facing Eleanor, but that she couldn't face her departure.

She whispered to herself, forcing her exhausted body to the side of Eleanor's bed.

Through the glass window, Liana saw Hailey sit in front of Eleanor's bed, raising her hand to stroke her cheek.

Sunlight poured in, shining on the two girls who had been through so much, casting a gentle golden light, as if warming them.
