A Second Chance at Forever (Eleanor and Bernard) novel Chapter 717

Whenever Eleanor was bullied at school, she'd feel all lost and helpless, not able to keep her emotions in check.

Garrett would always pop up right about then, sit in front of her, and soothe her with comforting words.

Eleanor cherished Garrett's kindness, and that’s why the memories hit her hard.

"Are you so upset because you still care about me?" Garrett joked, reaching out to Eleanor.

"If you do care, how about you come away with me?" Garrett said, laughing, but his tone was dead serious.

He'd thought about letting go, wishing her happiness. But lately, he's found himself unable to let her go. He just couldn't ignore his deep feelings.

Bernard couldn't live without Eleanor, and he felt the same. So, Eleanor, will you come with me?

Eleanor clutched her wedding dress tightly, her eyes welling up as she looked at Garrett.

"I'm sorry…" was all she could muster, apologizing to Garrett.

Garrett felt like he'd lost big time. His hand was suspended in mid-air, feeling the sting of disappointment.

It’s a good thing he said all that in a joking tone. Because he knew Eleanor wouldn't go with him.

He knew the answer, but he wanted to see her reaction anyway.

"Eleanor, I wish you and Bernard all the happiness in the world."

Garrett looked at Eleanor tenderly. After this, he wouldn't have any reason to see her again.

As he was watching her, the sound of helicopters echoed from outside. One chopper after another landed on the lawn.

They were decked out with ribbons and balloons. Seeing this, Garrett just hung his head.

"Eleanor, he's here to marry you."

After saying this, Garrett stepped back, pushing his wheelchair.

"Goodbye, Mrs. Laurence."

He turned around, pushing the wheelchair, tears sliding down his cheeks.
