A Second Chance at Forever (Eleanor and Bernard) novel Chapter 894

The DNA results were in. Bernard brought Eleanor back to the Laurence family's old digs.

They found Blake chilling in the living room. The moment he spotted them holding hands, his face turned stormy.

"So you two have the nerve to show up."

Blake's jab was clearly aimed at Eleanor. She shot him a glance but didn't say anything. Bernard, still holding her hand, strode right up to Blake and tossed him the report.

"Take a look yourself."

Bernard always treated Blake with a cold shoulder. Blake, being used to it, pulled his disdainful gaze away from Eleanor and grabbed the report.

Seeing the results on the report, Blake's gloomy expression eased up a bit, but this mild look didn't last long before it turned into confusion.

"This isn't some phony report, is it?"

After scanning through a few pages, Blake tossed it back onto the table, looking Bernard up and down. "The hospital's yours. Getting a doctor to whip up a fake report wouldn't be hard, would it?"

Hearing this, Eleanor remembered Bernard's reaction when he saw the report earlier. He didn't seem too excited, which made her take a second look at him.

But the man beside her didn't show any signs of guilt. Instead, he retorted at Blake without a hint of emotion. "Believe it or not, I'm just here to tell you that my wife and I share no blood ties. So mind your own business from now on."

Once he finished, he pulled Eleanor away. A sarcastic laugh echoed behind them from Blake. "Your mother is Tammie Pine, Jensen Pine's daughter. Her mother is Vanya, also Jensen Pine's daughter. Now you're waving around a report claiming you two aren't related. You think I'd buy that?"

Eleanor halted at his words, turning back to look at a stern-faced Blake. "Blake, I've told you before. My mother might not be from the Pine family. If she isn't, then naturally Bernard and I aren't related."

Blake shot her a glare. "You're just saying it's possible. Don't feed me uncertainty. I need evidence."
