A dazzling blue light erupted in the middle of the arena, as bright and intense as a burning flame. As everyone watched the light swallow Jared, they also felt its menacing power.
Edgar smirked as he took in the scene in front of him. “One has to pay the price for boasting. I can crush you to dust in less than five moves, yet you dare to utter all that empty talk.”
“Is that so?”
A calm voice rang out from within the blue light, and a blinding golden beam burst forth. Layers of scales began appearing on Jared's body, covering him like a suit of armor.
Under the illumination of the golden light, the blue ball of light vanished without a trace. Jared's gaze was filled with disdain and indifference as he stood unmoving. It looked like he was unscathed.
Edgar was stupefied, and the crowd was also puzzled. They could not grasp the extent of Jared's abilities.
Warren frowned. “Jared's physical body is so strong! How did he train his Golem Body to such a degree?” “It's because Edgar was too careless. He didn't exert his full power just now,” Zion explained.
I can tell Edgar didn't use his full strength. The way I see it, exerting only thirty percent of Sacred Light Fist's power will be sufficient. Jared will end up smashed to a pulp if Edgar attacks with too much power.
Ryker did tell Edgar that the latter was only allowed to cripple Jared, not kill him. That was because Jared would be of use to the Deragon family if he was alive.
Jared gazed at Edgar coldly, a look of utter indifference in his eyes. “That's two moves. If you continue attacking in such a lackadaisical manner, you won't stand a chance after you've made five moves...”
Hearing that, Edgar clenched his jaw, and his face flushed with rage.
