The man then pulled his black mask off, revealing a face covered in pockmarks.
It was none other than Flaxseed, who had given Zion two tracking talismans from Jadeborough.
After taking a closer look at his face, Jared realized he didn't know the man at all. “I don't know you, so why did you save me?” he asked with a frown.
“I just wanted to work together with you, that's all,” Flaxseed replied with a faint smile.
“Work together? And do what?”
Jared stared cautiously at Flaxseed.
Energy cultivators like us need a huge amount of spiritual energy for our cultivation, and the world is currently facing a deficit in spiritual energy...
Jared's eyes went wide at the thought of that. “You... Are you also here because of the cave?”
Flaxseed paused briefly in surprise before letting out a chuckle. “You sure are a smart one! Now I see why you managed to trick Zion...”
“Who are you? Tell me the truth, or I will use force!” Jared shouted while pointing Dragonslayer Sword at Flaxseed.
Even with the tip of Dragonslayer Sword inches away from his face, Flaxseed showed no fear whatsoever. “Easy there, buddy. You can call me 'Mr. Flaxseed.' I've only recently entered the Golden Core phase. You, on the other hand, have long since entered the Nascent Soul phase. Given the difference in our strengths, you could easily kill me in one strike, so you have no reason to fear me at all. I mean, what could I possibly do to hurt you? Poor Zion has no idea that he needs to completely destroy the bodies of Nascent Soul energy cultivators in order to kill them!”
