Salvador's brows were knitted together in confusion. Back when we left, there were thousands of beast cores here. Why is this place empty now? Only over a month has passed since we left.
“Salvador, do you think other sects or families might have snuck into this city to steal the beast cores?” one of them asked.
Salvador nodded in response. “That might be a possibility.”
After the previous Trial, many sects and families got to know the existence of this city. They could've risked their lives to sneak here to obtain all the beast cores for themselves.
“Come, let's go back and report this matter to President Zeigler. This is a serious incident,” Salvador declared.
He knew that it was a grave matter.
If one sect or family had gotten all the beast cores for themselves, the leading power in the Jadeborough martial arts world would change hands soon.
After all, the vast resources available here would be able to nurture many elite fighters.
Salvador and the rest were about to leave when they suddenly stopped in their tracks and turned to look over their shoulders in confusion.
That was because they realized an aura had locked onto them. They dared not move an inch.
After turning around, they saw Jared walking out of his hiding spot. Shock crossed their faces.
“Jared, you're still alive?” Salvador demanded, his voice full of disbelief and horror.
“You people are still alive, so how can I die before you?” Jared sneered.
His face turned dark as a murderous intent enveloped his body.
These four men only got to increase their strength thanks to Josephine's blood.
At the thought of how much suffering Josephine must be going through, Jared couldn't stop hatred from overwhelming his heart.
The four grew cautious after sensing Jared's murderous intent.
“Everyone, let's charge at Jared together and kill him. If we head back with his head, President Zeigler will give us a huge reward!” Salvador told the other three.
