Jared walked to the edge of the abyss and looked down, only to be greeted by nothing but darkness. Despite that, the sinister aura still sent a chill down their spines.
A golden light flashed in front of Jared's forehead as he attempted to explore the abyss below with his spiritual sense. Unfortunately, it was instantly dispelled the moment it entered, preventing Jared from discovering anything.
“Mr. Chance, Wrey and his men are catching up,” Great Diviner whispered after walking up to Jared's side.
Jared turned around to take a look before replying to Great Diviner, “Master Diviner, do you have any runestones or jade pendants on you?”
“What do you need them for, Mr. Chance?” Great Diviner asked quizzically.
“The negative energy in the abyss is extremely strong, and I'm worried that our men might not be able to withstand it. I want to create something that will help protect them.”
“I have some copper coins, Mr. Chance. Will they do?”
Great Diviner brought out a handful of copper coins as he spoke.
“Yes!” Jared threw the coins a glance before taking them in his hand. He then proceeded to seal the coins one by one with the Power of Dragons.
When he was done, he distributed the coins to everyone.
“Keep the coins on you. If you don't, your body might not be able to withstand the corrosion caused by the negative energy,” Jared reminded everyone.
As they took the coins, they were surprised to feel the warmth from the supposedly cold metal coin. It felt like a miniature stove that warmed their hands as they held it.
“Be careful, everyone. We don't know what dangers lie in the abyss, so don't lose your way down there. Follow me closely. Ideally, we should get a rope to tie all of us together. I'm worried we might not be able to find each other in the event any of us is separated from the group,” Jared said.
The moment he finished, he turned around and jumped into the abyss. Everyone followed him with no one showing any fear.
