Inside the valley's abyss, Jared's body was slowly falling downward. He could sense the thick and intense lethal intent around him, and his brain began to get fuzzy.
He vaguely felt something keep brushing past him. It seemed to be the phantoms, but at the same time, it did not seem like them.
If it's them, why don't they attack me?
Before he knew it, he lost consciousness.
Although his body continued falling downward, it seemed like he was being supported as his speed of descent became much slower.
Finally, his body landed on a circular platform. The moment he stopped falling, numerous phantoms swarmed around him. However, after taking one look at him, they did not attack and merely crawled out of the abyss.
He lay there quietly. Even as scores of phantoms passed by him, not a single one tried to harm him.
After what seemed like forever, Jared slowly opened his eyes. Apart from the pitch-black darkness surrounding him, he was also greeted by the sight of teeming crowds of phantoms.
The phantoms emitted a faint white glow in the abyss, and they would float upward one after another.
Alarmed to see the sheer number of phantoms, he gripped his Dragonslayer Sword tightly and looked around warily.
A moment later, however, he realized that those phantoms seemed to not see him. None of them wanted to attack him!
He heaved a sigh of relief. Then, he began to survey his surroundings.
Although he could not see much clearly due to the darkness, he could clearly see the round platform beneath his feet.
He circled it once and found that its diameter spanned a hundred meters. It was massive. However, there seemed to be more space under the platform, and the whole platform appeared suspended in midair.
“What is this place?” he muttered. I remember jumping into the abyss under the altar, but I wasn't expecting it to be so big!
