Jared stood before the mouth of the cave, not daring to push open the door and step in. He missed his mother every second of every day, but when it was time to meet her for real, he did not know how to face her.
Just when he was about to push open the door at the mouth of the cave, it swung open from inside.
On the heels of that, a woman in white walked out.
Their eyes met and held.
Although they had never met each other, the sense of familial bond that came from the same blood flowing through their veins promptly sparked to life within them at that very moment.
“Jared, my son?” Beatrice ventured softly, her eyes pinned on Jared.
“Mom!” Jared cried out loudly.
Tears streamed down his face, and he dropped to his knees before her.
In a flash, Beatrice's face was also stained with tears. She hugged her son tightly, both crying their hearts out.
Witnessing such a scene, Cecilia and the others also shed tears.
Roanna was similarly moved, understanding the depth of a mother's pining for her child.
Shifting her gaze to Santiago in front of her, she gave him a hard kick.
“Look what you've done!”
In her way of thinking, Jared might have been able to meet his mother long ago if Santiago had not kept Beatrice in Gate of Thunder's secret realm.
Hailey also glared at her father furiously, never having expected him to be such a person.
Santiago wanted to explain things, but he had no way of defending himself then.
When Jared and Beatrice had wept for a while, the latter quickly ushered everyone into the cave.
